Enroll

Pregnant women are able to enroll in the survey only cohort if they:​

  • are 18-years of age or older
  • are comfortable, able, and willing to use their phone or a computer to fill out surveys
  • are comfortable reading and writing in English or Spanish

*Current HOPE participants are able to enroll across multiple pregnancies (for example, if enrolled in 2020, delivered, and are newly pregnant, you are able to enroll for subsequent pregnancies)

 

Enrollment in the survey+testing cohort ended in October 2022. Pregnant women were able to enroll in the survey+ testing cohort of the study up until this time if they reported that they were:​

  • 18-years of age or older
  • comfortable, able, and willing to use their phone or a computer to fill out surveys
  • comfortable reading and writing in English or Spanish
  • comfortable having nasal swab and blood specimens collected in their homes or at laboratory facilities during scheduled collection periods (15 to 20 weeks of gestation, collection of specimens for themselves and baby at 6 to 8 weeks after birth)
  • comfortable with releasing their medical records for study review
  • live in San Francisco, Marin, Solano, Contra Costa, Alameda, or San Mateo counties in California
  • have an existing prenatal care provider
  • Are less than 16 weeks gestation and have an expected date of delivery in 2022
